NATO had to deploy fighter jets along its eastern border in response to a severe missile and drone attack unleashed by Vladimir Putin. The assault caused significant casualties and damage in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, marking one of the most intense attacks this year. The incident followed Vladimir Putin’s rejected proposal to Donald Trump regarding obtaining enriched uranium from Iran.

The Kremlin leader utilized strategic bombers, including Tu-95MS and Tu-160, to carry out the assault on Ukraine. The attack involved the launch of 68 missiles, along with 430 drones, targeting civilian energy facilities. Most of the drones used were Iranian-designed Shaheds. NATO responded by sending up fighters and surveillance aircraft over Poland and Romania as a precautionary measure.

The strikes resulted in casualties in various regions of Ukraine, with reports of fatalities and injuries. The attacks also caused significant damage to power plants, warehouses, and production facilities in several cities. Ukrainian retaliation efforts targeted locations in Russia, including the Afipsky oil refinery and the port of Kavkaz in the Krasnodar region, as well as damaging radar installations in occupied Crimea.
