“Elderly Woman Found Dead in Care Home: Murder Investigation Underway”

Police are conducting an investigation into a homicide following the discovery of a deceased elderly woman at a care facility during the early hours of the morning. Law enforcement responded to Sleaford Manor Care Home in Lincolnshire at approximately 2 am on Sunday, March 22, after receiving reports of the 88-year-old resident’s death. The authorities have classified the woman’s passing as suspicious and have apprehended two elderly individuals.

The two suspects, a 74-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, have been released from custody. Following a post-mortem examination on the deceased woman, law enforcement announced the initiation of a murder inquiry. Detective Inspector Mel Rooke, from the police’s major crime unit, expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones and assured the public that there is no broader risk to safety.

A representative from Care UK, the operator of the care home, conveyed deep sadness over the incident and extended sympathies to the family of the deceased resident. The company confirmed its cooperation with the ongoing police investigation and refrained from providing further comments at this time.
