“Homicide Probe Initiated After Child’s Tragic Death”

Following the tragic death of a child who succumbed to severe injuries in a hospital, police have initiated a homicide probe.

In a case related to the fatality in Slough, Berkshire, a 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were apprehended on suspicion of murder and causing serious bodily harm. Subsequently, they were released on conditional police bail as authorities conduct further investigations.

Thames Valley Police disclosed that the arrests were a result of the initial inquiry. Detective Inspector Nick Hind, from the Major Crime Unit at Thames Valley Police, expressed, “This incident is profoundly tragic, involving a child who sustained severe injuries and unfortunately passed away in the hospital.”

He added, “Our investigation is in its early stages. Two individuals have been detained in connection to this incident and are on conditional police bail as we progress our inquiries and pursue additional leads.”

DI Hind reassured the community, stating, “While the nature of this incident is concerning, based on the current information available, we do not believe there is a wider threat to public safety.”
