“Expert Tips to Beat Theme Park Queues”

An expert in theme parks has shared tips on how to avoid long queues during school holidays.

Famous theme parks like Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, and Legoland have reopened after winter closures, with Thorpe Park joining on March 27. With the upcoming Easter half-term and summer holidays, these parks are expecting a surge in visitors.

Theme parks have always been a favored choice for family entertainment, offering a variety of rides and attractions. However, dealing with long queues, especially on weekends and holidays, can be challenging for visitors.

To help visitors make the most of their theme park experience, Oliver Brendon, the CEO of AttractionTickets.com, has revealed five insider tips to beat the queues effectively.

According to Oliver, strategic planning is key to enjoying a theme park day to the fullest. Prioritize the most popular rides, visit them early when the park opens, and consider returning to less busy rides later in the day when crowds thin out.

Oliver suggested a smart approach of starting your park visit from the farthest point and moving backward to avoid the initial rush at popular rides near the entrance. This can help in reducing wait times, especially in the early hours of the day.

Additionally, being flexible with your visit based on weather forecasts can be advantageous. Unexpected sunny days on forecasted rainy days can lead to fewer crowds, offering a quieter park experience. Light rain generally does not affect major rides, ensuring a normal park operation.

For busy days, Oliver recommended utilizing single rider queues for faster access to popular rides. These queues are designed to fill empty seats, reducing waiting times significantly compared to the main queues.

Moreover, choosing the right seat on a ride can enhance the experience. Selecting seats based on preferences, like seeking thrills at the back row or a smoother ride at the front, can make a difference. Informing ride operators about seating preferences can also be helpful.
