Virgin Media is currently offering a limited-time promotion where customers can receive a free smart TV ahead of the FIFA World Cup’s conclusion today. The promotion, launched in anticipation of the tournament kick-off on June 11, allows customers to obtain a complimentary £250 LG Smart TV when they sign up for one of four Virgin TV and broadband packages. These packages include a wide range of benefits such as hundreds of channels, free Netflix subscription, and the option to add Sky Sports and Cinema coverage. The available packages are Virgin’s Cinema, Sports, Cinema + Sports, or Max Volt packages.

Upon availing the offer, customers can select either a 43” LG Ultra HD smart TV valued at £249.99 or a £125 bill credit, which essentially equates to several weeks of free service. However, customers must act quickly as the offer must be claimed by 11.59 pm on Wednesday, May 27.

Virgin’s eligible TV packages come with over 200 channels and a complimentary Netflix subscription. The Cinema bundle, priced at £44.99, also includes full Sky Cinema access and 362Mbps fibre broadband. Customers who are fans of football, Formula 1, and rugby may prefer the Sport bundle priced at £54.99, which replaces Sky Cinema with complete Sky Sports coverage. Customers can also opt for the Sport + Cinema bundle at £64.99, which enhances the broadband speed to 512Mbps. For a comprehensive entertainment experience, the Max Volt bundle priced at £76.99 offers over 230 TV channels, including both Sky Cinema and Sky Sports, Netflix, 1,130Mbps broadband, and an unlimited O2 SIM.

In addition to the free smart TV promotion, Virgin Media has introduced the One Touch Switch scheme for new customers. This feature allows customers to switch to Virgin without the need to contact their current provider. Virgin will handle the transfer process on behalf of the customer by liaising with the previous provider.

It is important to note that Virgin’s monthly prices will increase by £4 each April, a factor customers should consider when committing to the 24-month contracts. Sky has also launched a competing sale in anticipation of the World Cup, offering reduced prices on its Glass smart TVs, with rates as low as £4.50 per month for the Sky Glass Air model and starting at £11 for the Sky Glass Gen 2 model.

Furthermore, Amazon has unveiled its revamped Fire TV range, along with the introduction of the Ember Artline model, which is designed to compete with Samsung’s The Frame TV and is currently available at a discount of up to £320 off.

Virgin Media customers have expressed their satisfaction with the brand by leaving numerous positive reviews after subscribing to its TV and broadband packages. Users have praised the ‘blisteringly fast’ broadband speeds and the ‘great value’ offered by Virgin Media. One customer described their experience as excellent, highlighting the fast internet speeds and user-friendly TV package. Another customer commended the engineers for their friendly and seamless installation process. However, one customer deducted a star due to registration issues, despite an overall positive experience. Another satisfied customer labeled switching to Virgin as the best decision they have made, citing the ease of use, broad channel selection, fast broadband, and competitive pricing as key advantages.
