“Body of Missing Woman Found in River Aire: Police Investigation Update”

Police in the Apperley Bridge region of Bradford have announced the discovery of a deceased individual during the search for a missing woman. The body of Jane, aged 52, who disappeared from her residence on February 24, was located by underwater search teams yesterday.

Divers found the woman’s body in the River Aire at Kirkstall, Leeds, as confirmed by West Yorkshire Police. While formal identification is pending, Jane’s family has been notified of the finding.

According to a statement from a police spokesperson, despite ongoing extensive investigations to locate Jane, officers have unfortunately located a body believed to be hers. Detective Inspector Andy Queen from Bradford CID mentioned that specialized officers are providing ongoing support to the family during this challenging period and expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance in spreading awareness about the missing person’s case.

Throughout the search operation, some of Jane’s belongings were discovered on the riverbank on the south side of the River Aire near Apperley Road in the Apperley Bridge vicinity. Jane, known as Mrs. Hiles, was a former police officer who worked as a dog groomer and frequently strolled in the Apperley Bridge area. The police had conducted an extensive search for her before the somber revelation.
