Emergency services are present on a street in the city center following an incident at a location on Melbourne Street in Newcastle. Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service are at the scene, with multiple officers and paramedics attending to the ongoing situation. Visual evidence reveals the presence of four police vehicles alongside an NEAS emergency response unit and an ambulance.

According to the North East Ambulance Service, one individual has been transported to the hospital for medical attention. Northumbria Police has been contacted for further details on the matter.

A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service stated that they were alerted to an incident at a site on Melbourne Street, Newcastle, at 3:27 pm on Sunday, March 29th. An ambulance crew and a team from the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were dispatched to the scene, resulting in one patient being taken to the hospital for additional care.

Local residents informed Chronicle Live that the emergency response on Melbourne Street is believed to be related to a possible “stabbing” incident, although the police have not confirmed the exact nature of the occurrence.
