Fatal Shooting Outside Euston Station: Victim Identified

A man who was fatally shot outside a prominent UK station on Saturday has been publicly identified and his image released.

Authorities responded to gunshots reported around 11 pm on Chalton Street near Euston Station in London. Despite efforts by paramedics, the 26-year-old victim, now identified as Nahom Medhanie following a recent post-mortem examination, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Metropolitan Police revealed that the homicide investigation is being handled by specialists from the force’s Specialist Crime Command. Surveillance footage indicated that Nahom was shot multiple times while seated in a white Nissan Juke by the assailant, who arrived and fled on a bicycle. The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made thus far.

In a heartfelt tribute, Nahom’s family, receiving support from specialized officers, expressed, “Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us, and his passing has left an immense void in our lives. He had a vibrant personality, always bringing joy to those around him, which we cherished deeply.” The family has requested privacy during this difficult period.

Individuals with any relevant information are urged to contact the authorities at 101, referencing CAD 8032/28MAR, or provide anonymous tips to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Additionally, dash cam footage and other relevant materials can be submitted to the investigative team via the Major Incident Public Portal.

Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, leading the inquiry, emphasized the community’s concerns and reassured them of the diligent efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. Yorke urged anyone with pertinent details to come forward, either directly to the police via 101, online channels, or anonymously through Crimestoppers. The focus remains on supporting the victim’s family during this challenging time.
