A reputed crime figure has been apprehended in the United Arab Emirates, as confirmed by the Irish authorities. Daniel Kinahan, a man in his forties, was taken into custody following an arrest warrant issued by the Irish courts for alleged serious organized crime activities linked to the Kinahan crime syndicate.
The Irish police, known as GardaÃ, acknowledged the arrest of an Irish national in the UAE. They emphasized that the arrest falls under the jurisdiction of the UAE authorities and highlighted the importance of global law enforcement cooperation in combating transnational organized crime. Dubai Police verified Kinahan’s arrest on April 15.
A Garda spokesperson underscored that the arrest aligns with the extradition agreement between Ireland and the UAE. They reiterated their commitment to pursuing individuals involved in serious organized crime wherever they may attempt to escape justice.
In a statement by the Government of Dubai, it was revealed that Dubai Police, in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Interior, apprehended Kinahan for his alleged role in an international criminal network. The arrest was part of a broader initiative to combat cross-border criminal activities.
Following the receipt of a judicial dossier from Irish authorities outlining the suspect’s purported crimes and connections to an international criminal group, Dubai Public Prosecution issued an arrest warrant. Specialized teams swiftly conducted intensive search and surveillance operations, leading to Kinahan’s capture within 48 hours of the warrant issuance.
Dubai Police emphasized their swift response and operational readiness in handling international cases. They reiterated their commitment to global anti-crime efforts and tracking down internationally wanted individuals. Additionally, they stressed the significance of close collaboration with law enforcement agencies worldwide to bolster security and foster safer communities.
