A dramatic collision involving two vehicles led to a lorry catching fire on a busy road, causing tires to soar “30 feet in the air”. The incident occurred on the A1 between the Thistly Cross roundabout and Haddington in East Lothian, Scotland, around 3:50 pm. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, prompting the closure of the road and advising motorists to steer clear of the area. Witness accounts and video footage from the crash site depict a lorry engulfed in flames, emitting thick smoke.

Mark Innes, a witness to the event, described the harrowing scene, stating, “The lorry continued moving along the motorway with momentum and suddenly caught fire. It was a terrifying sight, resembling a scene from a movie. Fortunately, everyone involved seems to be unharmed.” Innes recounted his experience of assisting at the scene, highlighting the chaotic situation with tires exploding and flying high into the air before crashing down and igniting nearby vegetation.
