David Malukas set the pace during the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy event in Markham by clocking the quickest lap time in the second practice session at 1:14.194. Following closely behind, Alex Palou secured the second spot with a time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third position with a time of 1:14.592 on the Markham downtown road course.
Due to incomplete course construction and pending safety inspections, the initial day of track sessions had to be called off by the organizers. This year marks Markham’s debut as the host city for the race, transitioning from its long-standing location at Toronto’s Exhibition Place, where it had been held since its inception in 1986.
In the morning’s first practice session, Palou had dominated with the fastest lap time of 1:14.9915. Qualifying rounds are scheduled for the evening, shaping up the competition for the upcoming races.
