Hundreds of users of Microsoft Teams experienced difficulties with the platform this morning, particularly in accessing video and audio calls. According to data from Downdetector, a significant number of users encountered issues with the audio and video quality, as well as the overall functionality of the Microsoft Teams app, resulting in over 300 reported incidents. However, these issues have since been resolved, with the number of reported problems dropping to 35.
Around 10 am, more than 300 individuals were grappling with these technical challenges, but by 10:40 am, the situation began to improve. Some users also faced problems with the online conferencing feature of Microsoft Teams. Although users are still reporting issues this morning, there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of complaints. At 10:50 am, 65 users were still experiencing difficulties, specifically related to audio and video quality, as well as app functionality.
Initially, 359 people reported issues shortly after 10 am, with the majority highlighting concerns about the audio quality on Microsoft Teams. Approximately 42% of reports centered on audio quality issues, while 28% were related to app usability, and another 22% focused on video quality problems. The troubles seem to have started around 9:30 am, affecting users across the UK.
An outage map indicated that a substantial portion of reports originated from London and Manchester, with additional significant impact on users in Bournemouth, Bristol, and Cardiff. Other areas facing challenges included Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, and Luton.
As of 10:30 am, at least 320 individuals had registered issues with Microsoft Teams this morning, as per Downdetector’s data analysis.
