Police in Northern Ireland are seeking information from the public after a man allegedly assaulted a woman by punching her in the head and face and then forcing her into a car on Main Street in Portglenone. The incident occurred on Saturday night, leading to the arrest of a 42-year-old man who is now in police custody.
According to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), a witness reported the assault, stating that the male suspect physically attacked the female victim before compelling her into a black Nissan Quashqai around 10pm. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the event or has video footage to come forward and assist in the investigation.
A PSNI spokesperson disclosed that the arrested individual faces charges such as false imprisonment, common assault, and unauthorized motor vehicle use. The man remains detained as the police continue their inquiries.
