“Ronnie O’Sullivan Demands Fair Compensation for Snooker Events”

Ronnie O’Sullivan, a seven-time world champion in snooker, has issued a firm ultimatum to snooker governing bodies, stating that financial considerations will determine his participation in future events. O’Sullivan’s stance comes in response to the abrupt cancellation of the high-paying Saudi Arabia Masters tournament, which was terminated prematurely despite being part of a 10-year agreement worth £2.3 million. The snooker icon emphasized that he values his worth and expects appropriate compensation regardless of the location, whether it be in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, or elsewhere.

Asserting his position, O’Sullivan emphasized, “Any competition I attend, the expectation is clear – the organizers must meet my financial requirements. If this condition is not met, I will not participate.” The snooker legend also hinted at having alternative options available, indicating that he is not solely reliant on a single event. Despite his passion for the game, O’Sullivan stressed the importance of fair compensation and expressed his willingness to step back if the terms are not met.

Reflecting on his recent defeat in the World Championship against John Higgins, O’Sullivan acknowledged the disappointment but highlighted his improved ability to handle losses with a newfound perspective. Looking ahead, O’Sullivan mentioned his upcoming participation in the World Seniors Championship at the Crucible, underscoring his commitment to his craft despite the challenges faced.
