“Sergio Garcia Warned by Augusta National at Masters”

Sergio Garcia received an official warning from Augusta National following his actions that led to damaging a tee box and breaking his driver during the final round of the Masters tournament. Throughout the week, Garcia struggled to make an impact on the leaderboard despite making the cut. His frustration peaked on the second hole of the final round when he hit a poor shot, causing him to slam his driver against the ground, resulting in the club head hanging by a thread. Forced to continue without a driver, Garcia’s performance suffered, leaving him with a disappointing score by the 10th hole.

Audiences criticized Garcia’s behavior, prompting the intervention of Geoff Yang, the head of the Masters’ competition committee, who issued Garcia an official code of conduct warning. Garcia, who won the tournament nine years ago, faced repercussions for his actions on the course.

Garcia’s lack of confidence coming into Augusta was evident, and he expressed his dissatisfaction with his game after a slow start to the golf season. Despite an initial decent round, Garcia struggled to climb the leaderboard in subsequent rounds.

In a separate incident, Bob MacIntyre was also reprimanded for misconduct during the tournament after displaying inappropriate behavior on the course. MacIntyre’s actions drew attention and led to a code of conduct violation, adding to the controversies surrounding player conduct at the Masters.
