Two individuals, a male and a female, have been apprehended on suspicion of trying to commit murder following a stabbing incident involving a teenager on a serene residential street.

Emergency responders swiftly arrived at Ingleton Road in the Ribbleton district of Preston on Tuesday evening after receiving information about a knife assault. The 15-year-old victim was transported to a medical facility with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Following the event, a Section 60 Order was enforced, granting law enforcement officers expanded authority to conduct searches on individuals within a designated area and to request the removal of face coverings. This order encompassed the Grange, Brookfield, Homeslack, Fishwick, and Ribbleton vicinities and was in effect until 3 am on Thursday.

According to Lancashire Police, the stabbing of the teenager occurred during a “quarrel among several young individuals” in the vicinity, as reported by LancsLive. Chief Superintendent Ian Jones mentioned that this incident is part of a “growing trend” of assaults involving youths wielding knives in the area over recent weeks.

Today, authorities verified that a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were detained on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently in custody for interrogation. A police spokesperson stated, “Our investigation into an assault where a 15-year-old boy sustained stab wounds on Ingleton Road, Ribbleton, Preston, on March 17, 2026, is ongoing.”

“One 15-year-old male was arrested this morning on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 15-year-old female was apprehended last night on suspicion of attempted murder. Both are presently in police custody. Anyone with information regarding the incident on Ingleton Road is urged to contact 101 and reference log 1324 of March 17, 2026.
