Donald Trump criticized NATO and claimed victory in the Iran war in a recent post on Truth Social. The former US President labeled NATO as “cowards” and asserted that the conflict had been militarily won. Trump highlighted that NATO hesitated to engage in the battle against a Nuclear Powered Iran but now complained about high oil prices without assisting in opening the Strait of Hormuz. He called them “COWARDS” and emphasized that the US would not forget their actions.
The strong remarks coincide with the ongoing US-Israel war with Iran, which began on February 28 and has resulted in approximately 1,300 casualties, including the former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Khamenei was assassinated in Tehran as part of Israeli airstrikes targeting top Iranian officials, confirmed by the Iranian government on March 1.
Iran has issued warnings of targeting tourist and leisure sites worldwide while affirming their missile production, nearly three weeks into the conflict with the US and Israel. Despite limited information from within Iran, the extent of damage to its military and energy infrastructure remains uncertain. The situation has caused disruptions in global oil markets and spiked food and fuel prices beyond the Middle East.
US and Israeli objectives in the conflict vary, aiming at triggering unrest and dismantling Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. However, the outcome of the conflict and Iran’s capabilities remain unclear. Iranian military spokesman, General Abolfazl Shekarchi, cautioned about potential global targets, hinting at expanding militant operations beyond the region.
Reports suggest that Iran’s armed forces have been significantly weakened due to sustained strikes, with key figures eliminated. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed destruction of Iran’s navy and disruption of its air force and ballistic missile production, a statement refuted by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The Guard indicated continuous missile production and expressed readiness for a prolonged conflict until adversaries are exhausted.
