Sian Welby has swiftly taken her infant to the hospital. The 39-year-old presenter, well-known for her appearances on This Morning as a substitute host and her regular hosting duties on Capital FM, welcomed baby Ruby in June 2024 with her partner Jake Beckett. However, she shared on social media on Wednesday that she had spent the night in the emergency room with her child.

Via Instagram, she informed her followers: “For those inquiring about little Rubes. We had a lengthy night in the emergency room due to her high fever and experiencing febrile convulsions – almost like severe shivering with abrupt movements.”

Detailing the concerning experience, she continued: “It can be quite alarming, and she has had these episodes previously, prompting us to head straight to the emergency room for a thorough evaluation.” Sian expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans during the ordeal.

She further mentioned, “We are now back home and she is recovering well. Thank you for the kind messages checking on us all. Special thanks to the medical staff at St George’s who provided care for her and even gave her a teddy bear for her bravery. We are incredibly grateful for the NHS.”

Sian has been candid about her motherhood journey with her followers, including her concerns about the impact of motherhood on her career. In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous, she reflected on her brief maternity leave, emphasizing the need to make life decisions while maintaining career momentum.

Notably, Sian, who is reportedly being considered for a presenting role on Strictly Come Dancing following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, also advocated for an evolution in paternity leave policies to better suit modern family dynamics where mothers may have higher incomes than fathers. She highlighted the importance of accommodating families where having the father stay at home may be more beneficial due to the mother’s career.
