Environmental activists trespassed onto one of the Scottish golf resorts owned by US President Donald Trump to conduct a protest, strategically placing miniature wind turbine replicas on the fourth hole green at Trump Turnberry Golf Club in South Ayrshire. The protesters dismantled the turbines when golfers approached to avoid disrupting the game.
The demonstration was a direct response to Trump’s known aversion to wind turbines and his support for oil and gas energy. This action came after Trump expressed his backing for increased oil and gas extraction in the North Sea on his Truth Social platform, advocating for more drilling and criticizing wind energy.
Greenpeace highlighted that a majority of Scots oppose Trump’s stance on expanding oil and gas production and prefer renewable energy sources. Lily-Rose Ellis, a Greenpeace climate campaigner, emphasized the importance of investing in renewable energy to reduce dependency on fossil fuels and combat climate change.
