“Tyrrell Hatton’s Masters Rollercoaster: Frustration to Triumph”

Share

Tyrrell Hatton, a prominent LIV Golf player, expressed his frustration with the course after encountering an early setback during his final round at The Masters on Sunday. Despite starting the day at 4-under par, with a level par score on Saturday and an impressive 66 on Friday, Hatton’s round took a turn as he birdied the par-5 second hole but then dropped a shot on the 251-yard par-3 fourth hole due to a costly mistake.

His tee shot landed just off the green, setting up what should have been an easy two-putt. However, after missing his first attempt and making a crucial mistake with his putt hitting the lip, Hatton, known for occasional outbursts, displayed visible frustration with head shakes and muttered words before finally sinking the putt on his fourth try.

In a moment of anger, Hatton exclaimed, “This place is frustrating,” reflecting his disappointment with the turn of events. This outburst was soon followed by another player, Wyndham Clark, who also let out expletives after a similar blunder on the course.

However, Hatton’s luck seemed to improve later in the round, with a hole-out eagle on the seventh hole and a birdie on the eighth, boosting his spirits. Despite facing challenges on the firm greens in the heat, Hatton managed to finish with a 4-under round. In contrast, his LIV Golf teammate Jon Rahm struggled, citing unfamiliar course conditions that led to three bogeys and a 1-over total for the tournament.

Hatton ultimately concluded his final round with a score of -10, taking the clubhouse lead as other players like Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose continued their rounds.
