Amazon is set to introduce a new streaming device to its lineup, offering features that outshine current models. The upcoming Fire TV Stick HD, Amazon’s latest entry-level device, will be available for £39.99 starting later this month. Despite its affordable price, the new device boasts enhancements such as a slimmer and more stylish design compared to its predecessor.

The Fire TV Stick HD is now 30% narrower, making it easier to fit behind TVs and more portable for users on the go. A notable feature of this device is that it draws power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.

According to Amazon, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our slimmest streaming device yet, smaller in volume and width than previous models, and optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port, allowing for a neater fit behind a TV without requiring an additional power adapter.”

Similar to other Fire TV Sticks, this device provides instant access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. It also includes a convenient remote with Alexa voice search and quick access buttons for launching apps swiftly.

While the Fire TV Stick HD does not support 4K content, it offers full HD viewing, suitable for most households. Amazon highlights that the new device delivers noticeable speed enhancements compared to previous HD models, being over 30% faster on average. This results in quicker start-up times and faster app loading.

Additionally, the Fire TV Stick HD comes with the latest Fire operating system, offering a cleaner user experience, improved recommendations, and a less cluttered interface for finding content to watch.

The device is scheduled to hit stores on April 29th with a price tag of £39.99.
