A male, believed to be a teenager, has passed away following a shooting incident on a London street, prompting a homicide investigation. Police swarmed parts of Woolwich after the fatal attack on Lord Warwick Street close to Woolwich Dockyard around 3:40 pm.
Local reports indicate that a teenage boy, approximately 16 years old, was fatally shot. Three individuals have been apprehended in relation to the case and are currently under police custody.
Law enforcement officers were observed outside an apartment building on Lord Warwick Street and nearby areas in Woolwich earlier today. Forensic teams and paramedics also responded to the scene.
The London Ambulance Service has been reached out to for a statement regarding the incident. The shooting occurred in broad daylight on a residential street near the Woolwich Ferry and a brief walk from Woolwich Dockyard train station.
The Metropolitan Police are urging witnesses and individuals with dashcam or CCTV footage of the occurrence to step forward. Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card, overseeing the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s family and emphasized the ongoing nature of the inquiry.
DCI Card stated, “We urge anyone with information, footage, or details relevant to the incident to assist our investigation.” Those with information are encouraged to contact the police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
