“Unlock Free Onboard Perks with Budget Airlines”

Airlines often charge passengers for onboard refreshments, but there are ways to enjoy extra perks at no additional cost.

While long-haul flights typically include meals, drinks, and snacks, this is not always the case for short-haul flights, especially on budget airlines. Despite offering affordable tickets, passengers may find themselves paying extra for onboard snacks or beverages.

Nevertheless, budget airlines occasionally provide complimentary services. Adam Hodge, a seasoned Wizz Air cabin crew member based at Luton Airport, shared insider tips on how passengers can benefit from onboard perks without extra charges.

“If it’s a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary, I like to offer personalized services to make the experience memorable for passengers,” said Adam.

He further added, “For instance, if a passenger buys one of our Proseccos, I add a special touch by tying a handkerchief around it.”

During flight delays, airlines may offer complimentary services to passengers. Adam explained that in such situations, airlines may provide snacks and water to passengers free of charge to alleviate any inconveniences caused by delays.

However, outside special occasions and delays, passengers can access a variety of chargeable refreshments onboard. Wizz Air has introduced a convenient onboard ordering service where passengers can use an app to order snacks and drinks straight to their seat, bypassing the traditional trolley service.

“After takeoff, passengers can order through the app using a QR code and pay when the order is delivered to their seat,” explained Adam. “This service offers flexibility, allowing passengers to order at their convenience throughout the flight.”
