Amanda Knox is set to visit the UK for the first time, extending an invitation to the British public to attend “two special nights” near the residence of Meredith Kercher. The American, who faced two convictions and subsequent acquittals in connection to the murder of Leeds University student Meredith, will be arriving next week to promote her film ‘Mouth of the Wolf’. Her recent podcast discussing Lucy Letby drew controversy.
Expressing her excitement about the upcoming trip, Knox shared, “I’ve never been to the UK, but I’m finally going. It’s fantastic to know that the two screenings I’ll be presenting are already sold out! I’ll soon be releasing some reserved seats to put a few more tickets on sale! Join the waiting list! And thank you, London!”
Directed by her husband Christopher Robinson, the documentary portrays Knox revisiting the location where Meredith was killed, featuring original songs sung by Knox for the soundtrack, along with accompanying videos produced by her. The 38-year-old, now a mother of two, has transitioned her wrongful conviction into a successful career spanning various mediums like books, podcasts, films, and stand-up comedy.
The screenings of ‘Mouth of the Wolf’ in London on April 21 and 22 have generated significant interest. Knox personally invited attendees, stating, “We’re excited to share that Mouth of the Wolf will be screening in London for two special nights on April 21 and 22.” The event promises an opportunity for viewers to engage with the film in a city known for embracing innovative storytelling.
The screenings will take place at the Greenwich Picturehouse. While Knox’s supporters view her as a victim of injustice, critics argue she has capitalized on Meredith’s tragic death for personal gain. Following her final acquittal in 2015 by Italy’s Supreme Court of Cassation, Knox has maintained a high profile, engaging in various projects related to her case.
Meredith’s family, residing in south London, has expressed discomfort with Knox’s continued association with her name and the commercialization of the tragedy. Meredith, a student at the University of Leeds, met her untimely death in Perugia, Italy, where she shared a flat with Knox and two Italian roommates.
The tragic events unfolded on November 1, 2007, when Meredith was found murdered in her bedroom. Italian authorities initially implicated Knox and her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in the crime. Knox’s subsequent legal battles, including a conviction that was later overturned, garnered significant media attention globally.
Despite the acquittals, Knox’s connection to the case remains a subject of public fascination. Her return to Italy in 2024 for a trial related to her false accusation against Patrick Lumumba further fueled discussion about her involvement in the case. Knox continues to navigate the complexities of her past while building a multifaceted career shaped by the events surrounding Meredith’s death.
